Trent Youngs Endowed Prinary are holding a series of Green Afternoons
The idea is to put children in touch with the land and we are helping by organizing visits from countyside skills craftspeople such the blacksmith and the thatcher. The school is very close to our teaching woods so we will be carrying out a wide range of environmental activities.
Sunday Sessions are planned for the 23, 30th and another date yet to be confirmed.
These are taster days for all the family to come along to the farm and share in some learning activities as a taster for bringing children to the estate in future. Bring suitable footwear and your own lunch. Days run from 9.30 at the farmyard and finish around 3.00pm
These days have proved to be very successful and as a consequence, two schools have now booked visits
Teachers from one of the new schools said that they were glad of this blog to show their children some of the places they would be visiting when they come to the farm and woodlands.
