Learning from the land  at Gore Farm and Woodlands

We provides lessons, activities and vists to a working farm and woodlands at Trent  near Sherborne in Dorset.

This blog follows the seasons through the farming year giving you the latest news and views as well as information to prepare for school visits. The visits are free to schools who are encouraged to make Trent their outdoor classroom. Our role is to work with teachers and children to ensure that  learning at Trent is a relevant and valuable addition to their curricula. Activities are planned with the school curriculum in mind and matched to age and stage.

We will want to plan well ahead of your visit to have everything ready to work with you on the day. Preparation includes a Risk Assessment meeting with your lead teacher at the farm by arrangement.

There is no charge for your time on the farm and woodland although you will need to arrange your own transport.
